The only time I ask this question is when I take my bike to the shop. I do MOST of the work myself but told myself that I should get it tuned up professionally once a year. The first trip I picked the bike up and it rode fine - next time I tried to start it no dice. Decided I was going to find the problem myself and I did - the spark plug was loose. The tech didn't tighten it down and it wasn't throwing a spark. Secnd time I take the bike in a year later and this time I ride away. Next morning it won't start and is "seizing up." See the posting from me a little down below... The only other thing I had them do was replace my right rear turn signal. Curiously the only time the bike has ever had electrical work done and now the ship guy tells me my whole electrical system is shot. Hmmmm...coincidence?

I have noticed and heard that this is a bad bike to bring into a shop because the lowest guys on the totem pole get to work on the savage and because the bikes are rare. Plus most bike shops are notorious in general for overcharging. By the way mine at least only charges $40.00 per hour - maybe that's why they are so bad!!!

So the moral to the story is that it's worth it as long as you never take your bike into the shop!!!
